Mayor Bloomberg wants to impose "congestion pricing" on New Yorkers. That means that if you want to go to Manhattan between 6:00 am and 6:00 pm, and you are in a car, you will have to Pay $8.00 every time!!! The reason for this would be for less traffic in the city, and to improve the environment. What is your opinion about this? Why?

I think that mayor bloombergs idea is its very dumb and uncalled for.People who live like family dont have the money to go back n forth in the city for $8.00 by car and we dont even have the money to buy gas which is $70.00 to full one of the three cars. Bloomberg is not going to want to understant that most new yorkers immergrants have to work hard to support and their kids start working at 16 to help out. so spending $8.00 to travel by car to the city is really ridiclous.

I think it could be good or bad . Good :would be that less traffic on the street. Good:Less pollution of the air.Bad :would have to be that some people are not able to pay for passage and gas is sometime easier to deal with. Bad:that if people are not able to buy, sell, rent cars it can be bad for the economy.
Because without the insurance
payments and car dealership people would be out of jobs.

I think that he shouldn't do that. This city is a place that many people come from other places to see the sights. People who live here enjoy the ways of living how its always been. it seems more like an excuse to get more money from the people. If people wanted to enter the city without a car, there are the MTA rides for $2, but they aren't always as reliable as a personal vehicle, so it would be like there's no freedom in being able to roam around the city without them making a profit.

I think this is ridiculous!!!! You know how many people need to go to the city to go to work, and to pay $8.00 every time isn't right. Some people will just probably say that the people who need to go to work could take the subway, well let me tell something to these people, some people are afraid of the subway and can only get to the city by car. This isn't right and it shouldn't done. So far all the governments been doing is sucking money out of our pockets and we can't just let them do it we need to stand up and take a stance.
Hey, and think about this our dear old President, George Bush, recently asked congress for billions for dollars, where do you think that money is going to come from, thin air or this new $8.00 tax?
